SOLE 2007 will take place 21-23 August at the William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, PA. This year's conference theme is logistics: The Keystone of Mission Success. Mr. James D. Hall, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Defense (Logistics Plans and Studies) has again agreed to serve as the Defense Technical Chair. LTG (Ret) Mike McDuffie, Vice President, US Public Sector Services, Microsoft Corporation, has agreed to serve as the Industry Technical Chair. Our invited Opening Keynote Speaker is the Honorable Kenneth J. Kreig, Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics). Mr. John (Jay) Erb, Vice President, Integrated Services and Support; Army and Joint Mission & System Support Services, General Dynamics Information Technology is serving as SOLE 2007's General Chair. <br>The plenary, panel and paper session themes, by day, are as follows: <br>a. Day 1 (21 August) will be devoted to Defense Logistics, theme: The Human Element of Transformation? Don Davidson (OSD (LP&S)) will serve as the Defense Track Chair. <br>(1) Day starts with brief welcome remarks from Jay Erb (SOLE 2007 General Chair), Dr. Muller (President, SOLE), Mr. James Hall and LTG (Ret) Mike McDuffie. <br>(2) Keynote addresses anticipated by Mr. Ken Krieg (Under Secretary of Defense for AT&L), and LTG (Ret) Mike McDuffie. <br>(3) Plenary Session theme Defense Logistics 2012: The Organization and Its People? <br>(4) Panel 1 theme is the 2012 Logistician.? <br>(5) Panel 2 theme is logistics Constructs of the Future.? <br>(6) Paper Session 1 theme: Growing the 2012 Logistician.? <br>(7) Paper Session 2 theme: Human Capital Roadmap.? <br>(8) Paper Session 3 theme: Cultural Change as a Forcing Agent for Organizational Change.? <br>(9) Paper Session 4 theme: The Logistician Role in Organizational Change.? <br>b. Day 2 (22 August) will be devoted to Space Logistics, theme pace LogOps? Andy Evans will be the Space Track Chair. (Much of this day will build upon the April 2007 NASA/SOLE/AAS Space LogOps Workshop.) <br>(1) Plenary Session theme: pace LogOps: Planning and Achieving the Vision.? <br>(2) Panel 1 theme: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Space LogOps.? <br>(3) Panel 2 theme: The Future Space LogOps Roadmap.? <br>(4) Paper Session 1 theme: The Need for Capability-Based Planning.? <br>(5) Paper Session 2 theme: Responsive and Adaptive Logistics Chains.? <br>(6) Paper Session 3 theme: Achieving Outcome Driven Performance.? <br>(7) Paper Session 4 theme: Building the Integrated Community.? <br>c. Day 3 (23 August) will be devoted to Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (H&DR). The track Chair is Dr. Joanne Stone Wyman. The theme is Logistics: The Heart of H&DR Operations.?This will be a full day of panels and presentations (last year was only ?day). <br>(1) Plenary session theme: Logistics: The key to a Successful Global H&DR System.? <br>(2) Panel 1 theme: ulti-Institutional Planning for the Next Homeland Disaster.? <br>(3) Panel 2 theme: Global Logistics for Humanitarian and Disaster Relief.? <br>(4) Paper Session 1 theme is Lessons We Keep Learning for Homeland Response.? <br>(5) Paper Session 2 theme is Value Chain Partnerships for Homeland H&DR.? <br>(6) Paper Session 3 theme is Lessons We Keep Learning for Global Response.? <br>(7) Paper Session 4 theme is &DR Global Value Chain.? <br>As in the past, Monday evening will be the opening of the Exhibit Hall, with the Exhibitors?Reception.
