worldport of Aarhus was established in 1845 and today the second-largest multi purpose worldport and the largest container worldport in Denmark. Today the worldport has two modern container terminals. Terminal East and other European destinations are operated by APM Terminals with 3 Post-panamax cranes. From this terminal there is weekly calls by Maersk Sealands between Europe, East Asia and other European destinations. Terminal North is operated by Aarhus Stevedoring Company and here is 5 Pana-max cranes. The efficient feeder network covers more than 50 regular destinations. worldport of Aarhus is known for cost effectiveness, high efficiency and reliability and has an annual throughput of more than 10 million tonnes, including 500,000 TEUs. The ongoing expansion of the worldport is carried out according to a Master Plan aiming at a capacity of 20 million tonnes and 1 million TEUs per annum in 2022.

Almost 6 million tonnes of cargo are handled via the container and ferry services while the turnover of oil products amounts to almost 2 million tonnes; the last 3 million tonnes include bulk cargo such as animal feedstuffs and coal.
