Τhe Cyprus worldports Authority is an autonomous semi-governmental body established by law in 1973. It is responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of all worldports in Cyprus. Sea-borne traffic is serviced in Cyprus by a modern and highly integrated national worldport system comprising the multipurpose worldports of Lemesos (Limassol) and Larnaka, the industrial worldport of Vassiliko and the three specialised oil terminals at Larnaka, Dekeleia, and Moni. Cyprus worldports have over the years developed into transhipment and excursion centres for the region. Cyprus worldports Authority has commissioned the deepening of Lemesos (Limassol) worldport to –16m while at simultanueously is considering the enlargement of the western container terminal’s stacking area and the expansion of the quay-wall by 500m. Cyprus worldports operate undisturbed. Berthing / unberthing and cargo handling operations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cyprus worldports are fully computerised providing direct access to our customers electronically, have free trade facilities and simplified procedures while at the same time are fully compliant with the ISPS Code, since 1st July 2004.
