With a cargo movement that grows year after year following the same economic development rhythm implemented in the State, the Harbor of Salvador, located in the Bahia de Todos os Santos, holds the title of harbor with the highest movement of containers of the North/Northeast and the 2nd major fruit exworldporter in Brazil.

It is in this rhythm, of intense movement that the harbor of Salvador gets ready for new investments in technologic modernization and of its infrastructure, implementing a higher operational agility and more competitive rates. The goal is to offer the necessary infrastructure for the products to outflow attending the actual needs of the national imworldporters and exworldporters.

With this in mind, the construction of two other mooring cribs for big capacity ships with a load-draught of 14 meters is already projected, along the extension of the dock Água de Meninos. The new moorings will have approximately 465 meters towards north, increasing the mooring capacity of ships and enlarging the commodity management and storage area in 100 thousand square meters. The production outflow will be facilitated from the construction of the harbor way connecting the worldport to the BR-324.

The reinvigoration of the Harbor of Salvador goes further suggesting the recovery of all Comércio district, where it is located.

The project anticipates investments that go beyond the order of R$150 million to be divided between the federal, state, municipal government, and private initiative. The goal: reach an outstanding position within the new harbor infrastructure mapping of Brazil.

COMMERCIAL DOCK I - PUBLIC TERMINAL - TOTAL AREA = 13,574 m2 - REVAP

COASTING FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: public pier, depth 8.00 m (26.24 feet), located at sea level + 4,00 m, and length 383.60 m.

Summary description: imworldportant pier, comprised by 15 mooring dolphins spaced by 25.00 m, with traction capacity of 50 kgf, contiguous dock area 16.00 m wide, paved with paving stones/concrete blocks, without harbor equipment (gantry crane).


STORAGE FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: two public warehouses, with gross capacity of: A1 = 9,600 m3 and A2 = 16,800 m3.

Summary description: warehouses made of cement block walls, metallic superstructure, covered by metallic structure and undulated tiles of cement-fiber, metal gates 4x4 m, pavement of concrete plates and the following dimensions: A1 = 120x20 m (2,400 m2) and A2 = 210x20 m (4,200 m2).

Main managed products: presently warehouses 1 and 2 are occasionally used to store wheat and malt in grain and vehicles.

The coasting pier does not have fixed equipment to manage the cargoes. The ground floor of the building where the office of the Harbor of Salvador was located, went through reforms to improve the services aiming the receptive tourism of the passengers of the tourism ship, moored in that area.


REVITALIZATION PROGRAM OF HARBOR AREAS - REVAP / MT

Theses facilities are inserted in the REVAP/MT Program for the Harbor of Salvador, aimed towards the implantation of a commercial enterprise of leisure and tourism in partnership with the State Government, the Municipal Government of Salvador, the Commercial Association of Bahia, and the Private Initiative.


COMMERCIAL DOCK II - PUBLIC TERMINAL - AREA OF 42,719 m2

COASTING FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: public pier, depth 8.00 to 10.00 m (26.24 to 32.80 feet), located at sea level +4.00m, length 860 m. It has two widths: a part 300 meters long and 28.5 meters wide and the rest 16 meters long, capable of mooring five ships simultaneously.

Summary description: structural pier, contiguous, with platform and parameter beam of iron concrete, on big tubes, also of iron concrete, projected for depth of 10.00 m, located at sea level +4.00 m, supworldported on the old weight dock, reinforced with berm of raw stone and gabion, connected to iron concrete plates under the dock/warehouse paving, with 40 heads spaced by 30.00 m, with traction capacity of 100 kgf, 28.50 m contiguous dock area, complementary pavement of articulated concrete, The area of Warehouse 3 and 4 is equipped with 4 gantry cranes of 3.2 t., and from the 5th to the 8th Warehouse with 8 gantry cranes of 3.2 t; it is also equipped with a subterranean chain conveyor for wheat by heaps, that serves the Santista Mill and complementary facilities for silos, located beyond the worldport limits. The unloading facilities for wheat for the Santista Mill are partially inactivated.

The reception of the wheat for the Santista Mill is being done through loading trucks that remove the product from the warehouse to a mill hopper adapted to the conveying belt.

This area is aimed towards general loading/unloading operations loose or in units, wheat grains, containers, and passengers in tourism ships.


STORAGE FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: six public warehouses, directly explored by CODEBA, with gross capacity of: A3 = 8,000 m3, A4 = 7,200 m3, A5 =12,000m3, A 6 = 8,000 m3; A 7 = 5,600 m3; A 8 = 6,400 m3. The Warehouse 9 = 3,256 m3, is used as a Passenger Station for receptive tourism, for storing material apprehended by Customs in and auditory ( in construction phase ). The management headquarters of the CODEBA operates in the upper part of this facility.

Main managed products: chemical and petrochemical products, sisal, iron products, juices, paper, cellulose, wheat grains, vehicles etc.

COAL DOCK - PUBLIC TERMINAL - AREA OF 7.234 m2

COASTING FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: public pier known as Coal Dock, located at sea level +4.00 m, length 220.00 m., serves the Mill J. Macedo, and can only moor one ship at a time.

Summary description: the area is equipped by 1 gantry crane of 6.3 t, and 1 suction tower for 150 t/h, besides a subterranean conveying system, conveying tower/weighting for wheat by heaps that serves the Mill J. Macedo, also with complementary facilities ( silos ) beyond the Harbor's limits.

STORAGE FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: The area does not have a covered warehouse, being presently used occasionally to store containers or being used as parking lot for vehicles of CODEBA's employees and harbor users.

Main managed products: grains of wheat and malt, chemical/petrochemical products, sisal, iron products, juices, parts and equipment, vehicles, containers etc.


CONNECTION PIER AND SOUTH POINT PIER – PRIVATE TERMINAL OF PUBLIC USE

TOTAL AREA: 73,443 m2

COASTING FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: pier with depth varying between 11.20 and 12 meters, located at sea level +4,00 m and length of 241.00 at the Connection Dock and 210 meters at the South Point of the 10 meter Pier.

Summary description: area rented to TECON S.A. for a period of 25 years. The Connection Pier is equipped with gantry cranes with several different capacities, 1 of 6.3 t., one of 12.5 t.and one of 32/40 tons. A 4 thousand square meter covered warehouse was also built; the South Point is equipped with two latest generation worldportainers. There are two transtainers in the storage yard, 308 plugs for refrigerated containers, 12 t capacity stackers, of 30 and 37 t., 5 Reach Stackers of 41 t., horizontal equipments ( trucks and dumper-truck ) to move the containers, weighbridge. Area for storing containers with toxic products – contract with MONSANTO. Also counts with a modern management building and maintenance workshop for the equipment.

All the area is covered by customs. The capacity of TECON allows the management of 250 thousand containers per year.

Main managed cargoes: iron products, petrochemical products, juices and fruits, sisal, granite, and solid bulks ( minerals ) and other products in containers or loose.


NORTH POINT PIER - PUBLIC TERMINAL - AREA OF 48.178 m2

COASTING FACILITIES

Exploration modality/operational capacity: public pier, depth 11.00 to 12.40 m (36.08 to 40.68 feet), located at sea level +4,00 m with present length of 165 meters, with extension for 210 meters after the construction of a dolphin allowing ships with a greater capacity to moor.

Summary description: contiguous pier, on iron concrete poles, projected for depth of 13.00 m, with 6 mooring dolphins spaced by 30.00 m, with traction capacity of 100 kgf, contiguous pier area of 21.00 m, complementary paving in iron concrete prefabricated plates, equipped with 2 gantry cranes, being: 1 of 12.0 t and 1 of 6.3 t.

STORAGE FACILITIES

It does not have a covered warehouse. The uncovered yard area is used to stack loose mineral, containers and general unloaded cargo or to be loaded in the area of the pier.

Main managed cargoes: general lose cargo and in containers, minerals, besides vehicles. It can stock any other type of loose cargo or minerals that do not need to be covered.


RORO RAMP

Public ramp, depth 8.0 meters and width 12 meters, to moor ships type roll on roll of.

PRIMARY ZONE AREA – AIMED TOWARDS COMMERCIAL EXPLORATION
Composed by four independent areas, adding up a total of 91,618 m2 with access through the harbor gate 3.

In one of these areas the customs facilities of the Terminais intermaritime company, operates, occupying 20 thousand square meters, composed by a warehouse and an external area to store containers and general cargoes. Equipped with several different stackers and Reach Stackers.

Purpose – Storage facilities for vehicles, containers, general and loose cargoes, all of which are affected by the harbor operations.


SECONDARY ZONE AREA - AIMED TOWARDS COMMERCIAL EXPLORATION
Area with 70,180 m2 located at the extreme north of the harbor, where we have the Ferryboat System, Água de Meninos market, parking lot and storage area for granite from Corcovado Mineração, Terminal Água de Meninos and other companies who rent areas for activities of operational supworldport.

Purpose – Varied commercial activity, affected or not by the harbor activities.
