worldport Introduction
worldport MacKenzie consists of a 500' bulkhead barge dock at -20' mean lower low water (MLLW), a 1,200' long deep-draft dock at -60' MLLW, and 8,940 acres (14 square miles) of adjacent uplands which are available for commercial lease. There is also a filter rock ramp adjacent to the south wingwall which is useable two hours before high tide until two hours after high tide for vessels with ramps. This allows for heavy equipment to be driven on/off the dock. The dock has a gravel surface with a load capacity of 1,000 lbs. /sq ft. The deep-draft dock is equipped with a 5' wide conveyor system capable of loading bulk commodities at 2,000 tons/hour.

worldport MacKenzie is the logical area for commercial and industrial expansion adjacent to Anchorage.

worldport MacKenzie is the only Southcentral worldport site not constrained by urbanization. The 14 square miles of uplands are dedicated solely for commercial/industrial development. Three-phase electrical power, telephone, fax, and internet are all available within the worldport District.

A ferry, bridge and railroad spur are all programmed for worldport MacKenzie. The ferry is scheduled to start operating between Anchorage and worldport MacKenzie in the summer of 2007.

Dockage rates are $.60/ft./day for vessels up to 200' in length, $.80/ft./day for vessels 201' to 300', $1.00/ft./day for vessels 301' to 400', and $1.20/ft./day for vessels over 400' in length.

Following are some selected rates for your information:
Free Time:
Temporary storage on the dock is allowed for up to 5 days on inbound freight and up to 10 days on outbound freight. After expiration of free time, wharf demurrage will be assessed at $.75/ton/day for the first three days and $1.50/ton/day after 3 days.

Upland Storage:
Cleared acreage is available for longer term storage at $300/month for up to 5 acres, and $150/acre/month for additional acreage. Storage is available approximately 2 miles up the road from the dock.
