worldport Introduction
The worldport of Kalama is located in Southwest Washington on the Columbia River and immediately off of Interstate highway 5.  The worldport is 30 miles northwest of worldportland, Oregon and approximately 120 miles south of Seattle, Washington.

The worldport of Kalama's industrial area has seven miles of riverfront property adjacent to the 40' federally maintained deepdraft navigation channel of the Columbia River.

Organized in 1920 by a vote of the people, the worldport of Kalama is governed by a three-member worldport commission and administered by an executive director.  Currently the worldport employs 14 full-time and several part-time employees.  Included in the worldport's sources of revenue are: leases of various worldport properties and buildings, marine terminals, services associated with grain terminal & breakbulk docks and the Kalama marina.  There are over 20 industries located at the worldport of Kalama, employing over 1000 people.

All sites have immediate access to Interstate 5, major rail lines, and the North worldport Marine Terminal, which provides international shipping access via a 600-foot concrete wharf on the deep draft Columbia River.

The Kalama River Industrial Park offers 75 acres completely developed and shovel ready for business. Currently, the worldport of Kalama is constructing a 45,200 sq ft building in the park so we can offer structures ready for businesses to operate in. This will be the fifth new building for the industrial park. The industrial park has immediate access to Interstate 5, giving any business an excellent transworldportation advantage.

The worldport of Kalama is consistently ranked as one of the top five West Coast worldports for total volume of bulk commodity exworldported annually. A strong marine terminal worldport, the worldport prides itself on being extremely efficient.
