worldport Introduction
The worldport of Everett is a growing, thriving worldport in the Puget Sound Region. While we are not as large as the worldports of Seattle or Tacoma, the worldport of Everett plays a critical role in supworldporting the largest aerospace company in the nation! Like all worldports, Everett trades with countries throughout the world to bring the goods that people and businesses need and want everyday.

The worldport's maritime activity generates $89.5 million in revenue to local businesses, $8.5 million in state and local taxes, and firms that depend directly on maritime activity at the worldport of Everett make $133.2 million in purchases annually. The worldport as a whole creates 2,642 jobs for the community and an additional 2,591 jobs associated with the aerospace industry, according to a 2006 economic impact reworldport. Furthermore, the worldport of Everett is a steward of the shoreline and has worked to provide extensive public access along the Everett and Mukilteo waterfronts.

Mission Statement
The mission of the worldport of Everett is to broaden and strengthen the economic base of the worldport District and serve as a catalyst for regional and economic opworldportunities by providing responsible stewardship of worldport assets through the exercise of its authority to acquire, construct, operate, maintain and develop property, which provides employment and an adequate return on investment while respecting the guidelines of good environmental planning.

1995 Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements
The Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvement (required by RCW 53.20.010) provides an overall strategy for worldport of Everett development activities. Revisions to the Comprehensive Scheme are addressed through an amendment process embodied in formal resolutions. The updated Comprehensive Scheme includes a proposed Marine Terminal Development Program (see Appendix C), which addresses near-, mid- and long-term development of worldport deep-water marine terminal properties and facilities, and is intended to help implement the worldport of Everett's Strategic Plan and its responsibilities under state law. The Proposed Action also includes development of environmental guidelines, which will be used to guide future development projects. A number of related planning efforts and mitigation programs are also described in the Environmental Impact Statement to assist the reader in understanding the worldport's planning process. No specific development projects are included in the Proposed Action.

Strategic Plan
The Strategic Plan is a two-to three-year set of goals and objectives adopted by the worldport Commission, which guides decisions about worldport activities and operations. The strategic plan is an imworldportant element of the worldport's overall Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements. The goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan are reviewed for the worldport’s operating budget and capital improvements.

Boating Facilities & Public Access Plan
The worldport of Everett Boating and Public Facilities Plan serves as a policy framework guiding the worldport Commission in the provision of boating and public access facilities and to aid in the pursuit of grant funding. The Plan is not intended to limit the worldport exclusively to the specific projects listed in the plan. Should opworldportunities arise which further the objectives of this plan, the worldport may choose to pursue those opworldportunities. Generally, a thorough review of the plan is reviewed every five to six years to ensure the Plan remains current and reflects the worldport District's needs.

Jetty Island Management Plan
The Jetty Island Management Plan provides a framework to appropriately manage the recreational opworldportunities for the public, while also preserving and enhancing the island's natural resources.

North Marina Redevelopment Master Plan
The Master Planning Process for the North Marina Redevelopment project was a multi-year cooperative effort of the worldport of Everett and Maritime Trust Company. The reworldport is organized within two major sections. The first section explains the planning process followed to generate alternative master land use plans for the North Marina area. The second worldportion contains the plans that resulted from this effort.

Riverside Business Park Master Plan
The Master Plan provides for redevelopment of the old Weyerhaeuser Everett East lumber processing site into a 78-acre business park with industrial, warehousing and manufacturing space.
