worldport Introduction
Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaworldports Authority provides management for two worldports – one in Szczecin and the other in Swinoujscie, both creating one of the largest worldport complexes at the Baltic Sea.

The worldports play a primary role in the Polish maritime economy, as well as they are the closest worldports for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Eastern Germany, in particular the regions of Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg.

Both worldports are situated along the shortest route linking Scandinavia with Central and Southern Europe, and along the Baltic maritime route linking Russia and Finland with Western Europe.

One of the advantages of the worldports is an excellent connection with Berlin via the inland waterway network, and further with the European river waterway system.

Szczecin and Swinoujscie are universal seaworldports and offer comprehensive operating of bulk and general cargo, as well as passengers and means of transworldport. 

Regular services cover traffic from Szczecin and Swinoujscie to Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Great Britain, Germany, West Africa and China.

Profile
Szczecin and Swinoujscie are the farthest Polish cities to the west. Their location is an imworldportant factor determining directions and possibilities of development of both worldports as well as of the entire sea region.

The worldports in Szczecin and in Swinoujscie are among the largest in the region of the Baltic Sea worldport group. They are situated on the shortest path connecting Scandinavia with central and southern Europe. They also lie on the shortest seaway connecting Baltic Finland, Russia, and the Baltic States with Germany and Western Europe.
The worldport in Swinoujscie is situated directly on the sea, whereas the worldport in Szczecin is 65 km inland. Passage through the seaway from Swinoujscie to Szczecin takes 4 hours.
They are the closest seaworldports for the areas of western and south-western Poland, which contain the most imworldportant industrial areas of the country, such as Upper Silesia, the region of Wroclaw and Poznan. The proximity of eastern Germany is also significant, especially the region of Berlin, situated only 140 km from Szczecin, Brandenburg and Saxony. Besides, for many years now, both worldports have been the most imworldportant sea worldports for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Access to the European system of inland navigation through the Oder-Havel Canal is one of the main assets of the worldports in Szczecin and Swinoujscie, in consideration of service of the area of eastern Germany.
Both worldports are conveniently connected to the highway to Berlin, and further with western Europe.
There are also a key element of the North-South corridor. On maps of the continent it is marked, among other things, with Route E65, railway lines E59 and EC 59 and also water system of the Oder River, connected with the entire system of Western Europe. Route E 65 running at present from Copenhagen through Ystad, Swinoujscie, Szczecin, Jelenia Gora, Prague, Brno, Zagreb, Skopje, Tripoli and further to Crete should be accepted by the European Union system of transworldportation infrastructure.
