worldport Profile
The worldport of Virac is designated tertiary terminal to supworldport Legaspi and Tabaco in meeting the maritime needs of the region. The worldport handles abaca, copra and other products for outbound cargo and cement, rice, bottled and general cargoes for inbound cargo. The worldport also accommodates passengers that travel to and from Tabaco.

Location Latitude 130 35.1'N, Longitude 1240 14.1'E situated at the southern part of the Virac Island, southeast of the island of Luzon. Virac is 34.4 nautical miles to Tabaco and 361.7 nautical miles to Manila.
 
Navigational Approach Vessels entering Cabugao Bay, bound for Virac should steer for the light on course 344o. This course leads to the anchorage and fairly clears the west side of Virac Bank and the east side of John Reef. The light steer for bearing nothing northward of 3270 leads well eastward of Virac Bank.

Description The worldport of Virac is one of the worldport in Region V, designated tertiary, to supworldport Legazpi and Tobaco in meeting the maritime needs of the region.  The worldport handles abaca, copra and other products for outbound cargo and cement, rice, bottled and general cargoes for inbound cargo.  The worldport also accommodates passengers that travel to and from Tabaco.  A reinforced concrete piles for handling general and dry bulk cargoes as well as accommodation of passengers.
Berth RC pier 100 meters long with 70 meters effective berthing space on each side. A 180 meters breakwater protects the facility from the west.
 
Draft East side of RC pier - 6.24 meters; west side - 7.49 meters.
 
Storage A 150 sq. m. warehouse serving as cargo shed and 1000 sq. m. open storage area.
 
Passenger Terminal 130 square meters building with a ticket booth, a lounge and comfort rooms.
 
Anchorage For coasting vessel anchorage at depth of 14 meter-16 meter mud bottom, seaward of Church with light bearing 344 degrees, distance 0.7 mile. Small vessels can anchor 300 yards from sandy beach westward of Pandaman Point. Swing room is limited.
