From a humble beginning in February 1985 as a private limited company, ATLANTIC SHIPPING PVT. LTD (ASPL) has this year - 2010 - successfully completed 25 YEARS. Today ASPL is one of the leading Port agencies in India with strong fundamentals. Thanks to our esteemed principals all over the world, for their unstinted support without which the achievement of this SILVER JUBILEE would not have become possible. Thanks to them also for fuelling our urge to go beyond!
ASPL's registered office is based in Mumbai (Nariman Point) from where all banking transactions are handled. Its Head Office is also based in Mumbai (Worli) from where all activities - OPERATIONS / TECHNICAL / ACCOUNTS / MARKETING / HRD / CUSTOMS - are monitored.
ASPL has two Divisions for handling Port Agency. Liquid and Dry Cargo Divisions both in the Operations and Accounts Departments. Further the Liquid Cargo Division has two Sections, one for handling vessels of the Public (Government) Sector Oil companies and another for handling vessels of the Private Sector Oil companies.
ASPL also acts as General Agents / Owner's Protective Agents (OPA) / Charterers Agents.
ASPL also acts as Customs House Clearing Agents (CHA).
At the helm of affairs is a team of professionals from the oil / shipping industries and experts on taxation / customs laws with a combined experience of over 100 years to provide guidance and solutions apart from the services of Master Mariners and Technical Superintendents.
ASPL has a net-work of its own Branch Offices at all Indian Ports managed by well experienced local staff and hence no sub-agents are involved.
On an average ASPL handles over 225 foreign flag vessels per month of which 150 are tankers and 75 are dry bulkers, etc. Besides ASPL also handles about 150 calls per month of coastal vessels at various Indian Ports.
ASPL is one of the few ISO 9001:2000 Certified Port Agencies in India by Det Norske Veritas and Accredited by the RvA. Upon departure from Port, Master of every vessel is requested to fill up the feed-back sheet on Agent's performance and send it in a sealed cover directly to the Managing Director of ASPL, Mumbai.
